TRAVEL and STUDY in SENEGAL

TRAVEL and STUDY in SENEGAL, WEST AFRICA

DECEMBER 28th -JANUARY 18th, 2008
Join us on this 21-day adventure. We will be staying at a Senegalese guesthouse near the beach, outside of Dakar. 3 African meals, breakfast francaise: baguette, chocolate, fruit and coffee, lunch and dinner: rice, veggies and fish and meat will be prepared for you. We will have 2 dance/1 drum class, djembe and sabar classes a day during the week. Professional instructors from the ballet will teach classes at our dance floor at the guesthouse. There will also be daily instruction in the Wolof/French language and evening history class where we will be entertained by local Griot historian-singers-musicians-dancers. Weekends will be ours to explore: the traditional village of Bambey; the Grand Mosque Touba; Goree Island, House of Slaves; the Daniel Sorano Theatre, home of the National Ballet; Blaise Senghor Cultural Center. Visits to the marketplaces, trips to the tailor, the beach and local environments and parties! We will also host a Sabar Tannibeer Party near the end of our stay to showoff our new dance/drum moves and African clothes!

COSTS
The price for the trip is seventeen hundred dollars US*.

This includes: accommodations, meals, group dance, drum, language classes, transportation to villages and other locations. *You are responsible for your own airfare. We can help recommend travel arrangements.
